CHURCH, Whiting [Addison County, Vermont], farmer and dealer in real estate, was born 18 July 1868 in Leicester [Addison County, Vermont], son of Charles Franklin and Fannie Annette (ROBERTS) CHURCH. Educated in the public schools, Brandon and Middlebury High Schools, and Eastman's Business College, Poughkeepsie [Dutchess County], New York. The principal part of his life has been devoted to exporting cattle and merino sheep to Australia and South Africa; dealer in Long Island real estate. Republican; represented Whiting in the Legislature, 1908. Member of Union Lodge No. 2, Free & Accepted Masons, of Middlebury, and a Knight Templar. Unmarried. [Vermont Historical Magazine, No XI, October 1867, p 166, in a section on the history of Bennington, mentions a Daniel CHURCH, who "came from Arlington to Bennington [both in Bennington County, Vermont] to practice law in 1820 or 1821, and remained here until about 1830, when he removed from Vermont and died soon after."
