Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 169 Charles Henry DeLONG, farmer, Shoreham [Addison County, Vermont], was born 15 February 1858; son of Henry J. and Lucy M. (RUSSELL) DeLONG. Educated in the public schools, Newton Academy, and Goddard Seminary. After leaving school he engaged in farming and breeding Merino sheep and Morgan horses for about twenty years. At present a dealer in hay and produce. Republican; represented Shoreham in the Legislature 1898, and was senator from Addison County, 1906; was chairman of the committees on claims and on canvass, a member of the committees on fish and game, manufactures, and immigration and industrial matters. Was license commissioner two years. Has been town agent for the past five years. In religious belief a Universalist. Member of Simonds Lodge No. 59, Free & Accepted Masons, of Shoreham. In 1879 Mr. [Charles Henry] DeLONG married [Miss?] Nellie M. FARNHAM, of Shoreham; she [Nellie M. DeLONG] died in 1884; they had one son, Harry E., who died in 1904.
