Addison HOWE, George Vermont Historical Magazine, No. XI, October 1867, p 831 (extracted from a section on the history of Jericho, Addison County, Vermont) Dr. George HOWE was the second physician permanently settled in town [Jericho, Addison County, Vermont], and the one who practiced longest. He was a native of Canaan [Litchfield County], Connecticut, settled here [Jericho] in 1810, and practiced nearly to the time of his death; [Dr. George HOWE] died in 1857, at the age of seventy-five years. He married Mary, daughter of Hon. James A. POTTER, a native of New Fairfield [Fairfield County], Connecticut, who was merchant, farmer, town representative, judge of county court, a very active and enterprising man [of Jericho, Addison County, Vermont]; he [James A.
