LATHROP, Stephen Pearl

Stephen Pearl LATHROP, from Weybridge [Addison County, Vermont], graduated at 
Middlebury College in 1839; was preceptor of Black River Academy, Ludlow 
[Windsor County, Vermont], 1839-1840; read medicine in Middlebury [Addison 
County, Vermont] and Woodstock [Windsor County, Vermont], 1840-1843; 
graduated at the Vermont Medical College, Woodstock, 1843; practiced medicine 
in Middlebury, 1843-1846; was principal of Middlebury Female Seminary, 
1845-1849; since he has been Professor of Chemistry and Natural History in 
Beloit College [Rock County], Wisconsin, where he [Stephen Pearl LATHROP] 
died.
