Guy Winifred BAILEY, Essex Junction [Chittenden County, Vermont], lawyer and 
secretary of state, was born 07 May 1876, son of John Winthrop and Laura 
(CAHILL) BAILEY. Educated in Burlington High School and University of 
Vermont. Was clerk on commission to revise statutes, 1904-1906; commissioner 
to edit Public Statutes, 1906-1907. Is a Republican; was member of the 
General Assembly, 1904-1906; secretary of state 1908-1910; re-elected in 1910.

In 1904 Guy Winifred BAILEY married [Miss?] Mabel G. BRIGHAM, of Essex 
Junction. Mr. BAILEY is past grand chancellor of Knights of Pythias; member 
of Ethan Allen Lodge No. 72, Free & Accepted Masons; Burlington Council, 
Royal & Select Masons; Bethany Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Burlington 
Chapter No. 3, Royal Arch Masons; Burlington Commandery No. 2, Knights 
Templar; Cairo Temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; Green Mountain Lodge No. 
1, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; and the Ethan Allen Club.
