WI BIO - Dodge Co - ALBER, Max History of Dodge County, Wisconsin. Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1880, p 755 Max ALBER, proprietor, Western Hotel, Rubicon [Rubicon Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin], was born in Germany in 1842. He came to Wisconsin in 1868, locating at Rubicon, where he opened a blacksmith shop in the village of Rubicon and also purchased two acres of land. In 1878 he started the Western Hotel, in which business he is presently engaged. In politics, a Demcrat. In 1869 he married Miss Mary HAHN, a native of Wisconsin. They [Max and Mary (HAHN) ALBER] have had three children: (1) Mary J., born in 1870; (2) Frederick A., born in 1877; and (3) Francisco, born in 1879. The family are members of the Catholic Church.
