Ashippun, was born in 1848 in [Ashippun Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin, where he received his early education. [If Solomon RUDOLF was born before 29 May 1848, he was born in the Territory of Wisconsin, the State having been created on that date.] In 1873 his father gave him forty acres on Section 8, where he commenced farming for himself. In May 1874 he sold out and purchased eighty acres on Section 29, his present homestead. In 1876 he [Solomon RUDOLF] married Miss Mary MALLOY, a native of Washington County, Wisconsin. They [Solomon and Mary (MALLOY) RUDOLF] have one child, Alexander. Mr. RUDOLF was Supervisor in 1875, Assessor, and at present Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and Solomon RUDOLF is the first Chairman who was born in the town [township] of Ashippun.
