The American bar offers the finest opportunities for preferment of any country upon the face of the earth, its members being privileged, if the talent is not wanting, to attain not only the greatest distinction in the profession, but it is the easiest way of approach to the highest positions in the land. An intelligent and well-posted attorney is C. A. CHRISTIANSEN, who is also filling the responsible and honorable position of judge of Dodge County. He is a native of Flensburg, Schleswig, Denmark, where he was born January 15, 1848, a son of John Caspar and Antonia CHRISTIANSEN. He was educated at Flensburg and Odense Colleges, and in 1866 entered the University of Copenhagen, graduating there in 1872, and three years later he was admitted to the bar of Copenhagen and practiced his profession in that city successfully until 1884. May 11, 1877, he was united in marriage with Miss Wilhelmine Gertrude GJENDRUP, a daughter of Frederick William GJENDRUP. She was born in Copenhagen, and in January 1884, came to the United States with her husband, and from the City of New York to Wisconsin March 1, 1884, and took up their residence in Juneau. Mr. CHRISTIANSEN was admitted to the bar of Dodge County in September of that year, and has been actively engaged in the practice of his profession ever since. In 1887 and 1888 he served in the capacity of deputy county clerk, and in 1889, 1890 and 1891 was clerk of the city of Juneau. In 1893 he was elected to the responsible position of county judge. In 1889 he was enrolling clerk of the Wisconsin Senate. He has two children: Wilhelmine M., and Johannah M., both of whom were born in Denmark. He and his family are members of the Lutheran Church.
