Burlington: Ullery Publishing Company, 1912, p 232 George L. HUNT, lawyer, Island Pond [Essex County, Vermont], was born 23 July 1878 at Moosup [Windham County], Connecticut, son of Rev. George W. and Sarah A. (CRAWFORD) HUNT. Educated in the public schools, Brockton High School, Brockton [Plymouth County], Massachusetts, and Brown University, class of 1900. Was deputy clerk of the Caledonia County Court, St. Johnsbury, from 1900 to 1903; admitted to the Vermont bar in 1903, and began the practice of law at Enosburg Falls [Franklin County, Vermont]. From 1904 to 1905 was assistant secretary of state at Montpelier [Washington County, Vermont]. Since 1905 he has practiced law at Island Pond. Was state's attorney for Essex County from 1908 to 1901, and referee in bankruptcy in 1908. Republican. Was a second lieutenant in the Rhode Island militia from 1898 to 1899. His church preference is Methodist Episcopal. Is a member of the Grange, the Knights of Pythias, and also belongs to the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
